1995
Where it All Started
Smt. Anandiben Patel, with her daughter Smt. Anar Patel, founded Gramshree Women Empowerment, dedicated to uplifting marginalized women through income generation activities.
1997-98
HUMBLE BEGINNINGS
Gramshree initiated skill development programs, employing slum-dwelling women at Gandhi Ashram and Ramapir no Tekro in Ahmedabad, laying the groundwork for Craftroots’ handicraft center.
2001-02
HELPING HANDS
In response to the Gujarat earthquake, Gramshree, alongside partners, restored villages like Ludiya, Gandhi nu Gam, Hodko, and Dhordo, while Craftroots established a center in Ludiya village.
2003-05
WAVE OF HANDICRAFT
The handicraft wave reached Patan, reviving Mashru weaving craft, and a weaving center was established in Patan, Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
2005-06
GROWING STRONG
Craftroots, fueled by love and support, opened its first retail store in Ahmedabad, showcasing artisans’ creations nationwide.
2006-07
VISION TO EMPOWER
Pioneering handicraft and weaving centers in and near Ahmedabad, Craftroots aimed to elevate communities’ socio-economic status and spread awareness of Indian crafts.
2009-10
CHANGE THROUGH CRAFT

2013
WE WENT GLOBAL
Craftroots expanded overseas, conducting handicraft exhibitions in Dubai.
2014
COLLABORATION
Craftroots initiated workshops, bringing artisans and design students together from universities like CEPT, UID, NIFT, fostering collaborative ideas on craft development.
2017
EXPANDING PRESENCE
Excitingly inaugurated the second store in Ahmedabad, located at Bodakdev, offering a delightful shopping experience.
2020-21
SFURTI PROJECT
Smt. Anar Patel’s dream materialized under the SFURTI Project, creating a craft innovation center at Lilapur, empowering artisans and recognizing their skills.
2022
PAN INDIA EXPANSION
Craftroots boldly expanded Pan India, organizing Craft Melas and opening stand-alone stores. Proudly inaugurated the first store in Mumbai, a promising gateway.
2023
CONTINUED GROWTH
With joy and anticipation, Craftroots inaugurated the second store in Mumbai, adding another vibrant site to our growing presence, delivering quality and style.
